Nvidia Drivers - Never seem to work

Linux newbie here. I've been using Ubuntu off and on for about a year, but decided to switch my home system over to Fedora. We're starting to use CentOS in our virtual environment and I'd like to become more familiar with the same branch.

Anyway, on the second system in my sig, I'm struggling to get the Nvidia drivers loaded for my 750 Ti. Each time, I try, it's right after a clean install of Fedora, currently using 29. Here are the two I've tried most recently:

For the above guide, I can get to Step 6 without an issue, but upon entering $ sudo systemctl isolate multi-user.target, I get a black screen with a blinking cursor.

I saw that this guide was just updated this month, and was thinking of giving it a try. What are your thoughts, or is there a better, easier guide to follow? Thank you for any guidance!

use the drivers and guide from rpmfusion.org for best results

one thing to be aware of though, Fedora updates kernels at a fast pace and sometimes the NVIDIA drivers are not always ready straight away. even so, use akmods and you shouldn't come unstuck too often.

Re: Nvidia Drivers - Never seem to work

I still have the half-borked install running from a previous attempt. I'm hoping to wipe the drive and start a clean install tonight or tomorrow night, following the guide you linked.

Re: Nvidia Drivers - Never seem to work

Seems like a success! The only oddity I found was the step asking me to comment the "DRIVER==nvidia" line in /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/64-gdm.rules. I opened that file in nano, and it was either blank, or didn't exist. Skipping that and moving on, I didn't encounter any issues, and I now have a working Nvidia driver installed.

Thank you for the information. That was far simpler than any other guides I've tried following! Much appreciated!
