X -configure fails to generate new xorg.conf after adding GPU

When changing xorg.conf to reflect the addition of a new
Radeon GPU, I was able to update xorg.conf simply by changing
the Driver variable in the Device section to "radeon". It had
been "vesa", which must have been the default value from when
I originally installed Fedora before adding the GPU. The new GPU
    output looks beautiful.

Shouldn't I have been able to execute "X -configure" to generate
a new xorg.conf after installing the new card? This didn't work.
It bailed after generating the following errors:

Following is the lspci output. By GUI, do you mean window manager?
I understood that X -configure is to be run outside the window
manager, that is, in TTY mode, so that should be immaterial.
For what it's worth, I just tried X -configure on my backup system,
with an older 32-bit motherboard, and it fails on segmentation
fault also, but not before it generates an xorg.config.new file.

In TTY mode, use this command:
    Xorg :0 -configure
There should be an xorg.conf.new file in /root that you can copy over to /etc/X11/xorg.conf
If you are already running an X server, use a different display, for example: Xorg :2 -configure
