    Are most extensions dead, not to be rekindled

    I have Rawhide installed because I want to use gcc 9.x compiler.
    I am using gnome.
    The extensions that I had active with F29 do not activate with Rawhide. Gnome is at a higher release number.
    Anyone note the same problem with the "F30 path"?

    Re: Are most extensions dead, not to be rekindled

    I don't use Rawhide, but had a somewhat similar problem with some extensions awhile back (I wanted to keep using an older version, since I didn't like the updated one).
    The way I fixed it was to update the extension's metadata.json file with the right shell-version:

    Code:
    ...
      "shell-version": [
        "3.26",
        "3.28",
        "3.30"
      ],
    ...
    Add a comma to the last number, then add the version number of the current gnome-shell. I don't know if they even have to be in order. I'd try it on one to see if that solves it. If so, do the same to the rest.

    I will likely just drop one and overwrite the other.
    What do you use to edit the meta.json file(s).

    Any text editor should do (I use joe, since I learned & used WordStar on CP/M).

    You could even use sed, but it's probably not worth it for only one (or two? - I probably have a dozen gnome-extensions!)

    I am logging all my issues here. and reply when new ones are found

    The extensions I want to use (caffee, TaskBar, dash-to-doc are DEAD. Others are still OK (openweather, for example). There are a few months to go.

    Anaconda
    =========
    I am in Eastern Timezone, yet Anaconda puts me in the Central Timezone. Other distributions (Manjaro, SUSE Tumblewee, etc. get it right).

    grub.cfg

    I created a softlink within /boot/grub2/grub.cfg pointing to the grub.cfg -> /boot/efi/EFI/fedora/grub.cfg
    The advantage grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg works for both non-UEFI and UEFI installations.
