Black screen when trying to use nvidia optimus on fedora 29 kde

    Hello everyone,
it's been few days since i'm trying to install fedora properly on my laptop, it is working for most of it, except that i can't get the nvidia gpu to work.
My laptop is using optimus technology, i can't turn off intel gpu in my BIOS settings, the nvidia drivers seems to be installed, but not entirely, because i can't get to install xorg-x11, when i do, my linux boot normally and then hang on a blank screen, just like the gpu was turned off

From what i understood in the different things i read is that since fedora 25, i don't need to use things such as bumblebee or prime ( i tried bumblebee once, same result as above )

here are the 3 command line i used after added the RPMfusion repo:
    Code:
    dnf install xorg-x11-drv-nvidia akmod-nvidia
    dnf install xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-cuda
    reboot
But as i said above, blank screen when i finish to boot ( i can access the terminal when in blank screen sometimes )

    some informations:
    Code:
    $ lspci |grep -E "VGA|3D"

in the inxi logs, it seems that i'm using the nvidia driver, but can't find a way to enable it, as i can't install nvidia-settings because xorg-x11 makes me boot in blank screen
I'm new with linux so maybe i'm doing something wrong

If someone know how i could enable my nvidia gpu, even if i have to "disable" my intel gpu, i'll take it, thanks !

the drivers look to be installed fine, to use the NVIDIA GPU there's actually a command to run when launching whichever program it is you want the acceleration for

I thought since fedora 25, the optimus was fully handled by the drivers, i'm going to give bumblebee another try

Edit: tried and it works, thanks

I had a similar issue. I needed to create an xorg.conf file. You are required have one if you are using an nvidia optimus card. You can download the nvidia-xconfig from the repos you can use that tool to create a starting point. In order to use that tool you will need to be at init level 3. Just add '3' to the end of you kernel line from the grub boot screen and you should boot into a CLI. In that file you will want to comment out the following lines:

    Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "Monitor0"
    VendorName "Unknown"
    ModelName "Unknown"
    # HorizSync 28.0 - 33.0
    # VertRefresh 43.0 - 72.0
    Option "DPMS"
    EndSection

The file you create will be located /etc/X11/xorg.conf. You may need to match the info in that file to your system.

Try upgrading your kernel to the latest version 4.1 or other and see whether it's working or not. I'm pretty sure it will work.
