After upgrade to FC29, tear on 3rd monitor

OK guys, small issue just appeared after upgrade to FC29:

    setup:
    Asus Prime B350
    Ryzen 2600
    Nvidia GTX 1060

    3 monitors connected, as follows:

The top monitor is my TV.

Before upgrade to FC29, everything was very smooth.
After upgrade (via a fresh reinstall), I get a VERY visible tear on (actually) all monitors when playing videos/movies, etc.

    Code:
    [root@nova ~]# rpm -qa | grep -i nvidia
    xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-kmodsrc-415.27-1.fc29.x86_64
    xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-libs-415.27-1.fc29.x86_64
    nvidia-persistenced-415.27-1.fc29.x86_64
    xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-cuda-415.27-1.fc29.x86_64
    nvidia-settings-415.27-1.fc29.x86_64
    akmod-nvidia-415.27-1.fc29.x86_64
    kmod-nvidia-4.20.10-200.fc29.x86_64-415.27-1.fc29.x86_64
    xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-cuda-libs-415.27-1.fc29.x86_64
    xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-415.27-1.fc29.x86_64
The only difference to my FC28 setup is the addition of the cuda rpm's. Maybe I will take those off, and see if that fixes it.

EDIT: I will most probably end up buying a 370 motherboard, so I can fit my old GTX650 card into it lol.

Re: After upgrade to FC29, tear on 3rd monitor

I removed the xorg-x11-drv-nvidia-cuda-415.27-1.fc29.x86_64 (had to remove all of the nvidia driver dependencies), and then reinstalled the nvidia drivers without that specific package,
but it had no effect. Tear is still there.

Re: After upgrade to FC29, tear on 3rd monitor

    SOLVED IT !

It seems to be working, although I have no clue *how* this is actually working.
I ran the Nvidia X settings, and created myself an xorg.conf

in this xorg.conf I am using all the 3 configured monitors as "one screen", and I then added the following to the "metamodes" line:

    EDIT:
    Option "TrippleBuffer" "True"
    Option "metamodes" "DP-5: nvidia-auto-select +0+1080 { ForceFullCompositionPipeline = On } , HDMI-0: 1920x1080_60 +0+0 { ForceFullCompositionPipeline = On } , DP-3: nvidia-auto-select +2560+1080 { ForceFullCompositionPipeline = On}"

I thought this option was only available on a per monitor basis, but it seems to work on a per screen basis, and applies to all the monitors configured within that screen.

There's no solved option in the rants section so I've moved this into the hardware and laptops section instead now just in case anyone else needs the same solution in the future. thanks for sharing your discovery anyhow
