Smile kernel-modules-4.21.0-0.rc0.git6.1.fc30.x86_64 seems to be missing

On the latest Fedira Rawhide kernel 4.21.0-0.rc0.git6.1.fc30.x86_64 the kernel-modules appears to be missing since VMware WS 15.0.2 won't compile.
a search does not bring it up. On the other hand the modules package for 4.21.0-0.rc0.git1.1.fc30.x86_64 does exist and WS compiles.

Actually it may be moot as Linus has now declared kernel 5.x is a thing

koji says the kernel modules package for that build was complete. Me thinks you're actually needing the kernel-devel package in order to get the kernel headers needed to compile a kernel module. The core kernel package probably wouldn't even run on most modern hardware without the accompanying kernel-modules package being installed as well. As a matter of fact, the "kernel" meta package has as its dependencies "kernel-core" and "kernel-modules" packages. Without the kernel-modules package, it wouldn't even install.

yeah they just renumbered it. Linus said a while back the number is irrelevant to him so I'm not surprised they decided to jump to 5.0 for 2019

Thank you for this explanation. I realized my error when I ran "rpm -q | grep 4.21.0-0.rc0.git6.1.fc30.x86_64 . VMware doesn't compile on this kernel but I'll wait to hit the VMware Forums when kernel 5.0rc1 becomes available.
