Fedora 29 KDE on MacBook Air

Not showin' off . . .
but yeah, I jus' knew from prior Apple dual -and triple boots (Fedora and RedHat) that Apple is/can be among the the most user-friendly of platforms for linux machines.

So gonna start a "test drive" of F29 on OS High Sierra . . . let's see how 'dis goes.

First, was to resize the MacBook Air's High Sierra APFS Container in terminal -
terminal currently preferred as Disk Utility may or may not support the resizeContainer command.

It created my 31.1 GB disk0s3 Apple_HFS Extra.

Then rebooted with the Fedora 29 Live USB, and wanted to just use the Anaconda Installer, but . . .
I need to install Fedora outside the Container, don't I ?

Luckily, I can now use Disk Utility to add outside the original partitioning - although I will want to learn command line.

Live F29 KDE had little problem partitioning inside the container . . . but dual- or other multiple-boot I´ll need to be outside the APFS.

Disk Utility will prompt you about how much easier it is to add volumes inside the original "container" (a UNIX slice ?) - that's the terminology apple uses now anyway.

First I really recommend taking out all external drives and being plugged in.
So both the F29 KDE Live USB and a file/data USB . . . those volumes are in the original container by Disk Utility, which kinda makes sense. It is the whole thing inside the container 1,
and resizeContainer might resize from everywhere - in theory.
Anyway no chances of that if they are unmounted and sitting on the desk, eh ?

Anaconda Installer for this Fedora 29 KDE Live iso worked as usual -
custom partitioning but I just went with what it came up for mounting points and made the recommended swap partition.

Funny the MacBook air will boot into Fedora 29 on power-up because it is listed ahead of McIntosh OS I guess.

Holding down MacBook Air´s option key at boot gives the choice now between Fedora and MacOS.
