    Fedora 29 and Citrix Receiver

I updated my Fedora 28 VM to Fedora 29 using the DNF method. Everything seemed to go successfully.

I noticed two things almost immediately--My volume control was missing from the xfce panel (which was replaced easily), and my Citrix receiver no longer seems to work.

I have the latest version of Citrix Receiver installed (13.10), but when I click on the application, I just get the busy cursor for a coupleof seconds, then it stops. Nothing happens. Nothing shows up in /var/log/messages.

    Any ideas on what happened?

I haven't upgraded to F29 yet, knowing Citrix could fail will make me hold off longer so thanks for letting me know and please do post here if you find a fix.

What browser are you using? Citrix didn't work in Chrome for me on F28 but Firefox worked ok, there was a setting I had to change (something to do with automatically running the plugin maybe? It was a while ago).

    An Update :

    I have solved this issue.

It turns out that Fedora 29 updates a package called libidn.x86_64, which provides /usr/lib64/libidn.so.12. However, the Citrix Receiver is looking for /usr/lib64/libidn.so.11.

So I ran the following command as root:

    ln -s /usr/lib64/libidn.12.6.0 /usr/lib64/libidn.so.11

    And now everything works again.

As an update to this, instead of creating the link, run "dnf install libidn1" which will install the old version of libidn alongside the new one.

Another note, even with the correct libidn.so.11 in place, citrix receiver was seg faulting for me. I had to go all the way back to receiver version 13.4 to get it to work. Another alternative maybe to use the Chrome Citrix App, however it wouldn't connect for me.
