    cant upgrade fedora 29 kde

    so i fallowed all the offical upgrade procedures but then i get to the part where i use the command "sudo dnf system-upgrade reboot" i do that then it says please wait it may take a while performing updates then really quick (i recorded video to find it) it says failed to start load kernel modules and then tells me to check systemctl status so i do and this is what i get

    Code:
    sudo systemctl status systemd-sysctl.service
    [sudo] password for user:
    ● systemd-sysctl.service - Apply Kernel Variables
       Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/systemd-sysctl.service; static; vendor preset: disabled)
       Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Wed 2018-10-31 17:20:46 EDT; 4min 17s ago
         Docs: man:systemd-sysctl.service(8)
               man:sysctl.d(5)
      Process: 1133 ExecStart=/usr/lib/systemd/systemd-sysctl (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)
     Main PID: 1133 (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)

    and then after it says stuff about the failed to start load kernel modules it just reboots without updateing how can i fix this and why is it a problem....

    The systemctl status is cutting off the important part of the message

    If you re-run that as
    sudo systemctl status systemd-sysctl.service -l

    repost that so we can see what the missing right side of
    Code:
    Oct 31 17:20:46 localhost.localdomain systemd-sysctl[1133]: Line is not an assignment at '/etc/sysctl.>

    Re: cant upgrade fedora 29 kde

    i took a look at that file with nano and it turns out its just the config file that i made myself of a list of things or commands i do after i install any new fresh linux os as a means of linux hardening.

    Code:
    net.inet.tcp.rfc1323=0
    net.inet.icmp.timestamp=0
    vm.swappiness=0
    kernel.randomize_va_space = 2
    fs.suid_dumpable = 0
    hard core 0
    kernel.exec-shield = 1
    net.ipv4.ip_forward = 0
    net.ipv4.conf.all.send_redirects = 0
    net.ipv4.conf.default.send_redirects = 0
    net.ipv4.conf.all.accept_redirects = 0
    net.ipv4.conf.default.accept_redirects = 0
    net.ipv4.icmp_ignore_bogus_error_responses 1

    Re: cant upgrade fedora 29 kde

    i went ahead and edited the file with nano and just erased everything in the file i figured i would re apply it when the upgrade is done now i get this .

    Code:
    ● systemd-sysctl.service - Apply Kernel Variables
       Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/systemd-sysctl.service; static; vendor preset: disabled)
       Active: active (exited) since Fri 2018-11-02 06:57:40 EDT; 46s ago
         Docs: man:systemd-sysctl.service(8)
               man:sysctl.d(5)
      Process: 904 ExecStart=/usr/lib/systemd/systemd-sysctl (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)
     Main PID: 904 (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS)

    Nov 02 06:57:40 localhost.localdomain systemd[1]: Starting Apply Kernel Variables...
    Nov 02 06:57:40 localhost.localdomain systemd[1]: Started Apply Kernel Variables.

    Re: cant upgrade fedora 29 kde

    if i check the file systemd-sysctl.service i get this

    Code:
    [Unit]
    Description=Apply Kernel Variables
    Documentation=man:systemd-sysctl.service(8) man:sysctl.d(5)
    DefaultDependencies=no
    Conflicts=shutdown.target
    After=systemd-modules-load.service
    Before=sysinit.target shutdown.target
    ConditionPathIsReadWrite=/proc/sys/net/

    [Service]
    Type=oneshot
    RemainAfterExit=yes
    ExecStart=/usr/lib/systemd/systemd-sysctl
    TimeoutSec=90s
    sould i just delete the file with?

    Code:
    sudo rm /usr/lib/systemd/system/systemd-sysctl.service
    or maybe i could change the line that says Conflicts=shutdown.target to something like Conflicts=ignore.target
