adding a new larger monitor (NVIDIA, FC28)

    Hey guys,

I just bought a new 27" IIyama monitor, which fit perfectly well on my Ergotron Dual-arm Mount.
I didn't even have to reboot the computer. However I noticed that since the new monitor's resolution is 2560x1440 (previous one was 1920x1080), when plugging turning it on, it remained at the old resolution.
The Monitor Settings Dialog did not have the new resolution in the list. (bug?) Therefore my post here.

So I launched the Nvidia Settings, and there it was shown correctly, so I changed it accordingly, and I had to "slide" the screen up to "fit" into the rectangle.

Once that was done, I hit Apply, and voilla, all works. The Display Dialog box now contains the extra resolution as well:

Update: the NVIDIA on-the-fly setting did not survive a reboot.
I will check if I can "set" it in stone with xrandr, or I have to let Nvidia create an xorg.conf.
