    AWX is open source now, why no Fedora package?

    AWX is the opensource version (Apache License 2.0) of Ansible Tower, the latter is for the commercial, paid for version. Right now, I think you can only clone AWX from github to get it:

    git clone --depth 50 https://github.com/ansible/awx.git

    Is there plans of having AWX as a built-in Fedora package?

    Marco, This site is for Fedora users. It is not connected in any sponsorship way with Fedora and RedHat.
    go to https://ask.fedoraproject.org/en/questions/ and see what they say to your question.

    Just a note. What Fedora places in rpmfusion.org repositories are source and excutables that are initially supported.
    Someone has to do that work.

    I know all that, I was just asking if someone here knows.

    @leslie Fedora Project doesn't place anything in rpmfusion. rpmfusion is maintained by enthusiastic Fedora users who wanted the extras Fedora doesn't provide.

    @marko take a look on copr.fedoraproject.org

    if there's any hope of AWX becoming an official package or even hosted on rpmfusion it will most likely start life on copr first.

    It looks like the issue is a recent Fedora rename of Python 2 packages. Since Python 2 is soon going EOL it would make more sense to package AWL for Python 3 if the support is there.

    https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/co.../?fulltext=AWX
    shows tons of Centos7 builds, the one Fedora one (https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/merlinthp/awx/) doesn't look very good.
    Maybe when Centos 8 is out and an AWX is built on that it would be more Fedora friendly since 8 is a big leap forward in related Fedora version

    Marko,
    RedHat Linux is not so quick moving as Fedora. And when RH provides version 8, Centos will follow in a few days. It is quite possible that somewhere, already, the Centos is following closely to RH's version.

    RHEL8 is already around. CentOS is taking awhile to catch up because there are many changes, and the CentOS devs prefer to do it right, rather than do it quickly.

    https://wiki.centos.org/About/Building_8 is the place to track status.
