    AAC audio broken ...

I can't recall when it started, but it was within the last few months that I noticed certain video or audio files would playback with really choppy audio. Today, I finally narrowed it down to AAC audio or video files with AAC audio streams. For files that use something other than AAC, the audio seems to work perfectly. I'm using VLC, and have tried xine and other media players; same result across the board; AAC audio streams are extremely choppy and pretty much useless. I'll be happy if I can get at least one media player to work with this.... VLC preferred.

    Any suggestions?

I was able to play the video (and extracted audio) of Gary US Bond's "Quarter to Three" using VLC with no noticeable problem. I'm sure the same video is available on youtube, so you may want to try it as a test.

    I'm using an up-to-date F28, KDE.
