    Text mode installation

Can't install Fedora 28/29 on my laptop using anaconda.
The problem is that anaconda output is wider than the window, so the right hand side of anaconda is past the window border.
The [Begin] button is past the right side of the full screen window.

Ideally, I would like to setup the installation and then when it comes to initiating the installation actions,
enter command line using f2 with anaconda, and trigger a [Begin]

Alternatively, Is there a capability to install Fedora using Text Mode?

You could try using the anaconda boot option:
    inst.resolution

Specify screen size for the installer. Use format nxm, where n is the
number of horizontal pixels, m the number of vertical pixels. The lowest
    supported resolution is 800x600.

it is an old "one laptop per child" item that IBM made for Latin America. It has a Latin American Spanish keyboard. http://one.laptop.org/

The specs are posted at: http://laptop.org/en/laptop/hardware/specs.shtml

    Resolution: 1200 (H) 900 (V) resolution (200 DPI);

    Re: Text mode installation

There used to be a text mode install option from the grub boot screen. It was pretty much required for light memory systems that weren't fat enough to run the X11 stuff. The docs say inst.text boot option

Its not the fastest computer, but it is rugged. It can be tossed around as it uses an SSD. Really has long battery life too.

    Re: Text mode installation

Around RedHat 6 or so, they crippled text mode install, having it only able to do defaults, unless you use kickstart. Much slower, more likely to break, typical weaknesses of GUI only interfaces, but it can still be used, just type text after the kernel line (I think).
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US...text-mode.html gives a couple of alternatives.

More like Windows every day. Sigh.

I am using the network installation version. I burn my usb and run an install from it. It books directly into anaconda. How do I intercept that? Anaconda could help me out by relocating the two buttons that currently exist on the bottom right.

They just revised the Spoke to be centered buttons. Oh, if you do an install with a non-standard keyboard, choose the layout first before clicking the install button,

Even with a net install image you should still be able to intercept the boot before anaconda starts. At least up thru F27 you could.
