Fedora29 beta - how to set root passwd

installed fedora29 from Fedora-Workstation-Live-x86_64-29-20180926.n.0.iso to vmware.
During the process of installation, there is no possibility to set the root password, is this correct ?
I need the root user to excute dnf e.g. How can i solve this ?

Assuming that you created one user during installation, that user is usually going to be automatically be in the wheel group. With sudo, members of the wheel group can usually perform any task by default in Fedora, similar to Ubuntu.

You can also use sudo su - to become root.

Alternatively, use sudo -i and then passwd to set the root password. Still don't know why the devs had to mess around with this.

The Netinst Workstation & Everything ISOs for (at least) vers. 28 & 29 allow for root & user creation during installation. The LIVE ISOs allow only user creation for these versions. I do not know about ISOs preceding them, since Fedora is new-to-me. Is this what you are referencing, @bob?

this has been covered before in the forum multiple times, the change was introduced exclusively to the Workstation Live ISO for Fedora 28 onwards. It's described in the F28 release notes as reducing redundancy in workflow

Okay, okay. Gotta grumble in private about such things.
