Fedora 28 Thinkpad t440s Synaptics Touchpad behaviour after suspend

    Hi,

I'm new to this Forum and have directly a question for you.

I'm now using Fedora since a year and I'm very happy with this distribution.

My Problem now: When I boot the Laptop the Synaptics Touchpad work nice and smooth. After a suspend it doesn't. mainly the two finger scrolling doesn't react as smoothly as before. Sometimes (I can't specify when) two finger scrolling work just with three fingers

If you need some logs or something else please say it to me and I hope my english is understandable for you

    Thank you
    Johannes

    Hi there,

I recently stumbled upon the same problem. Additionally, my touchpad sometimes didn't work at all after resuming from suspend to RAM.
I found a solution in the archlinux forum that goes by unbinding and re-binding the SM-Bus Controller. You can do this manually in a root shell if the problem occurs or put it in a systemd-unit as described in the post: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic....10656#p1810656
Of course you need to find out the specific pci-address of your device via lspci -k (also described there). For me, it fixed both the not-working and the badly-working touchpad issue.

    Best Regards
