Running Xampp / Lampp on Fedora 28

    Hello,

I just installed xampp/lampp on my newly installed F28 and tried to run xampp and it complained about missing the 32 bit libraries.

    Code:
    sudo /opt/lampp/lampp start

XAMPP is currently only availably as 32 bit application. Please use a 32 bit compatibility library for your system.
What libs do I have to install to make this work?

    Regards,
    Ed

I'm guessing "/opt/lampp/lampp" is a start/stop shell script, look inside it with a text editor and find out what the xampp binary is and run it directly, it should give you some output re: missing libs.

It's actually a symlink to xampp, I ran xampp and i get the same thing.

Really? and xampp is not a script? make sure it's a binary with "file xampp" and if it is run "ldd xampp" to see the libs it uses.

I'm not too savvy on scripts and this is a very long one, I can't post its code here but if you would like to take a look at it you can get it from my dropbox here. Can SELinux cause this?

You need to add a few packages according to this post: https://forums.fedoraforum.org/showt...edora-64(help)

The post is a bit old so you'll wnat to use dnf instead of the old yum. You basically want to find the i686 3 packages "compat-libstdc++", "glibc" & "libgcc". So "dnf list |grep libstdc |grep i686" followed by a "dnf install <pkgNameFromList>" and repeat for the other 2 packages. Sorry, I'm not on Fedora right now so can't check the actual package names for you.
