    Stop the long delay after issuing a reboot or power off

    If you are the single user, then as admin, you would do the shutdown via the gnome interface or you would do the shutdown via terminal mode.
    If you use sudo reboot or sudo shutdown from any terminal, shutdown is just about immediate --no 90second delay.

    I'm sure there's a gconf setting to suppress the shutdown delay which would save you firing up a terminal to shutdown.
