How to get quick access to terminal?

I tried alt-f2, but a mini version came out. I now have it in my left panel so I can use it, but surely there must be an easy way to get to it?

If there's already a keyboard shortcut configured or, if not, how configure your own will depend on your window manager. Google "KDE/Gnome/XFCE (delete as appropriate) keyboard shortcuts" and I'm sure you'll find it, actually you might be able to right click the menu item depending on your WM. Personally I've manually configured a whole load of them, ctrl+alt+t for terminal, ctrl+alt+b for browser, ctrl+alt+o for office, ctrl+alt+m for mail etc etc. I try and keep them generic (e.g: B for browser, not F for Firefox) as over the years I've changed apps multiple times and changing keyboard shortcuts makes it awkward to change.

If you are using gnome, this kind of extension can also be useful for quick terminal usage needs. https://extensions.gnome.org/extensi...down-terminal/
Though it doesn't work well with wayland.

In Xfce I just add a quick launch item to my primary panel which allows me to launch the xfce4-terminal with one click from any workspace and also specify what size to make it and where on the screen to put it. You should be able to do the same in pretty much any DE.
