    Unable to boot with 4.17 kernels - a start job is running dev mapper

    Hello!
    So, I'm cross-posting because I can't find a solution and I wanted to try here. Sorry for this.
    Problem
    I've been using F28 for a while now with kernel 4.16.x, and I can't switch to 4.17.x, even if it is installed, because it hangs on boot:

    Code:
    A start job is running for dev-mapper-fedora\xd2\xd2lvm\xd2root.device (13h 41min 50s / no limit)
    Please note that it does not only happen for the root filesystem, but sometimes also swap (and maybe home) as well.

    If you need it, my /etc/fstab is:

    Code:
    #
    # /etc/fstab
    # Created by anaconda on Tue May 22 17:22:52 2018
    #
    # Accessible filesystems, by reference, are maintained under '/dev/disk'
    # See man pages fstab(5), findfs(8), mount(8) and/or blkid(8) for more info
    #
    /dev/mapper/fedora--lvm-root /                       ext4    defaults        1 1
    UUID=1973dc85-3c75-4c11-825c-53014b5ee387 /boot                   ext4    defaults        1 2
    UUID=ed457530-9ae7-3cbb-94a1-ddee359b9912 /boot/efi               hfsplus defaults        0 2
    /dev/mapper/fedora--lvm-home /home                   ext4    defaults        1 2
    /dev/mapper/fedora--lvm-swap swap                    swap    defaults        0 0
    /dev/disk/by-uuid/0d9e966d-e0be-44f1-bc13-2910ca08c5ef /mnt/0d9e966d-e0be-44f1-bc13-2910ca08c5ef auto nosuid,nodev,nofail,x-gvfs-show 0 0
    Attempts
    I tried running dracut to rebuild initramfs as suggested here: https://ask.fedoraproject.org/en/que...th-kernel-417/.

    I also saw there's something similar happening in RHEL, but I can't access it: https://access.redhat.com/solutions/3015861

    Apparently this is a known problem, but I am unable to find a solution for my case.
    Do you have any suggestion?
    Thanks a lot

    It solves the issues! Thanks a lot!

    I still wonder where was the problem and why 4.18 fixed it.
