Can the anaconda installer be used on an already installed system?

I'd like to install Fedora on a USB stick. I don't want to just flash the live iso image because it will reset itself with each reboot.
Now I'm wondering if I could somehow get the anaconda installer on my already installed Fedora computer and use it to simply install Fedora on the USB stick.

Perhaps you could run Fedora "live" on your system and use the installer as usual, but choosing the USB drive as the destination for install, rather than the system's internal drives.

    Might be do-able.
