    network configuration (shared folders, printer...)

    Hello,
I am from Ubuntu and new to Fedora.
I met troubles about network in several way.
I understood there is firewall by default so for this debuging I disable it using zone "trusted".

    My smb client works with
    Code:
    command smbclient -L //ip.of.the.second.pc.using.ubuntu
However, the shared folders (from ubuntu) does not appear in nautilus fedora-pc. Should I use nmbd in fedora?

In the other way, when I try to share the public folder of fedora, it appears on nautilus ubuntu-pc but return error when click on it :
    Code:
"Impossible to mount ; DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)"
    . When I test
    Code:
    smbclient -L //ip.of.the.fedora
(replacing by real ip), then if get error
    Code:
    NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_REFUSED
Also, I can detect the network printer but impossible to print.

I can see windows networks from nautilus but it returns error :
    Code:
"This location could not be displayed. Sorry, could not display all the contents of 'MY-WORKGROUP': Not a directory"
I can see "Freebox Server" device in "Networks" but it returns error :
    Code:
"Unable to access location ; Failed to retrive share list from server: Connection refused".
Thanks for reading and I hope I can get some of your help.

    With best regards,
    Vincent

Re: network configuration (shared folders, printer...)

You're not alone. https://forums.fedoraforum.org/showt...es-from-Fedora Unfortunately nobody here seems to have a solution.

For the firewall, I found setting to the FedoraWorkstation zone was helpful to get rid of the error messages, as that enables the ports for the samba-client service.

Samba does work with smbclient and smbtree in a terminal. But as far as I can tell, the problem seems to be with network discovery from within file managers.

    Good luck.
