    Question Budgie Desktop

I have searched Fedora Packages and this forum and can't find Budgie desktop/window manager.

Is there a particular reason why it is not available in Fedora? Or, maybe I didn't look in the right place? Thanks.

    Re: Budgie Desktop

Apparently it is not part of any Fedora packages. I have read that one can download the Budgie desktop from their own site and set it up under most linux distros, but i have not attempted this. I also was curious about this, but after using it under other distros i decided Cinnamon is very close to the same experience and uses less resources. So it's probably a wise choice on Fedora's part. FWIW.

Well it needs someone to take on the packaging and maintenance of it. If there is nobody willing or capable then it would have been pulled due to being out of date.

There are a few COPR repos with Budgie, e.g. https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/co...esktop-stable/

Thank you for the link but in that announcement Ikey refers to the future happening of support being withdrawn when Budgie 11 is released, which has not yet happened. So why hasn't Budgie 10 been available in Fedora respositories? That said, I do understand what Ikey said about Budgie 11 needing to be integrated and that is exactly the direction being taken by ubuntu/budgie. Ikey's roots are showing

because either it's not up to the required standard for Fedora repository packages or the people compiling them don't want the hassle of dealing with bug reports and pushing regular updates. there's a copr build available if you want to try that but you do so at your own risk. also any support issues need directing to the packager's github page and not bugzilla.
