    Hi all!

    When I updated my system from Fedora 27 to 28, my WiFi stopped working.

    Wi-Fi settings says: "No Wi-Fi adapter found. Make sure you have a Wi-Fi adapter plugged and turned on"

    I'm using a Dell Inspiron 5548. My wireless card is Intel Corporation Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265

    Is it a problem of rights ? , Because your file has not the same rights than others ?
    Please consider to make a fresh install of F28.

    symlinks usually have other perms and users.

    @krone,
    well, it does look like your card is working and has the firmware loaded, else you would not see anything (wlp3s0) in iwconfig
    have you tried using nmcli , or nm-connection-editor ?

    Hi guys, thanks for the replies.

    Well, as embarrassing as it is, the Wi-Fi card was just turned off, physically. I'm not sure how it happened, because it's not trivial to do it accidentally, and there's no light switch indicating the state of the wi-fi card, so I didn't notice. I turned it on and everything worked just fine.

    Anyway, thanks!

    Don't feel bad. At the last large organization I worked for the most common cause of "computer won't start," "no video/screen", or "printer won't work" by large margin was that the power or a connecting cable had become unplugged.
    Hope is not a plan
