Hello guys,

as a dude that handles servers on a daily basis, and having moore's law flattened out, meaning all new accessible CPUs handle more jobs simultaneously rather than one job faster, I find myself suddenly running a lot of KVM/QEMU or VirtualBox guests.

My question is:
does the impact of the kernel fixes for the CPU flaws multiply themselves by 2, by having the Host suffer, and also the guests suffer underneath ?
effectively a double whammy ?

....maybe the installation should have a small "checkbox", if you are installing on a guest, and the host is already patched (easy to check I guess), then bypass the patches....
