The Percentage of Python Used in Fedora

    Hi

I am curious to know how much portion of Fedora Operating system is written with Python ? For example if we break down the operating system in various component like Kernel and thousands of other application programs then which of them written by Python or part of them are written in Python ?

For Linux or the basic code, I would say zero.
Even the command line stuff (ls, cp cat....) are in C.

Some GUI stuff may be in C++.
dnf is, I believe in python.,

Most of gnome is in javascript. KDE is in C++ (QT based)
    Leslie in Montreal

    Interesting web sites list

no idea the actual percentage of components or applications that use python. hplip does though, i tried removing some python components today and was warned it would break scan to PDF for hplip but I don't have a MFP so no issue for me.

just do a "locate /site-packages/ in a terminal (better have a huge scrollback buffer) and you'll start to get an inkling of how many components of Fedora Linux are coded in python or at least have python components. It's a lot.

I would have to say that most of the Fedora/Redhat written applications are written in Python. I am pretty sure that anaconda (The installer application) was written in Python. I believe firewalld is Python as well.
