Use of latest mediawriter in Fedora 28 spews thousands of QBackingStore errors

I wanted to use mediawriter since it's the official usb key creator on the getfedora site. I usually used the old way with 'dd' but figured mediawriter might be better. I installed mediawriter 4.1.1-2 and tried to run that from bash as root and it floods the console with

    Code:
    [root@toshiba ~]# mediawriter

Obviously spewing that 50X a second is probably not correct or good for performance. This never stops the entire time the mediawriter is
up. My laptop is not running anything unusual like the NVIDIA closed driver, it simply uses Fedora 28 workstation on the intel GPU i915 driver with the latest update of Fedora 28 KDE desktop. My guess is this happens a lot but no one sees because most people launch mediawriter from the GUI desktop.

I have tried to use mediawriter on several occasions and had bad luck with it (the live iso would not boot), so I rely on dd -- fast and easy AND it works. Not sure why the Fedora wiki for creating a live usb device recommends mediawriter.

I think a mediawriter type app is a good idea because it can wrap the dangerous bits with sanity checking. Like checking the device type and requiring it to point to a usb device.
Someone could wipe out a hard drive with dd pretty easily.
