Installation of Fedora 28 On Dell Inspiron 15 5000

Just got this laptop from Dell:

    1. Arrived at 3:30pm
    2. Booted Windows allowed it to finish then resized hard drive
    3. Booted from USB Fedora Installation and installed Fedora
    4. By 4:30pm I was up and running with WiFi already enabled by default (no hunting down drivers or need to install kmod-wl, etc.)
    5. Profit!

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 (i7559-2512BLK) working mostly okay. My main complaint is that virtual terminals are nearly useless. Only Ctrl+Alt+F4 terminal works and once you are in it you can't get back to the desktop (pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1 should return me to GUI but does not). I've even tried using
    init 3
    init 5
to cycle it to non X and back to X from the tty4 but with no success.

This is an optimus laptop and I use the closed NVIDIA driver but did not do any set up of optimus.

My laptop has Intel graphics, not sure if that would be the issue.
