    It doesn't work!

    Somethings that really annoy dev's

1: People/Morons who file bug reports with terms like "It doesn't work" and nothing useful.
2: People/Morons who don't provide "steps to reproduce" when using abrt.
3: This forum as the above points apply to 99% of the **** posted to it.
4: Bugzilla reports marked private (I filter them to "trash" on my inbox and never read them as it is not possible to forward upstream).

A "It doesn't work" is better than no bug report at all.

    Re: It doesn't work!

Given that we spend our days building software to incomplete and ambiguous specifications using barely documented libraries and tool chains it is obvious that we should know exactly what is wrong when "It doesn't work".

None is better IMO , why should dev's have to waste valuable time asking for basic info like a full backtrace and steps to reproduce?

    Re: It doesn't work!

I agree with points 1, 2 and 4. bugs and posts like that are generally as much use as a chocolate fireguard. However not your particular choice of wording regarding other users which is in contravention of the forum rules regarding abusive behaviour.

Please don't generalise abusively on this forum about other users of the OS or this forum's members and the posted contents. Regarding specifically point 3, the same can easily be applied to ask.fedoraproject.org or any other linux distribution support portal or forum for that matter. Not all users hold the same level of knowledge or experience.

It helps nobody if you alienate users. Okay, you may receive fewer bugzilla reports without pertinent information in them as a result of your rant but at the same time you risk putting off others from reporting bugs constructively who can actually help improve the OS. Thanks for at least providing a link to How to Report Bugs Effectively, something constructive which may educate users a little on what you actually need. Hopefully some will take the time to go and read it if they bothered reading that far down your post.
