I am teaching myself G Code and would like to use LinuxCNC, but it is aimed at Debian. I have downloaded and burnt the iso they provide, but it will not boot (I know my DVD drive is bootable from because that is how I installed Fedora).

Now I am trying to compile it from source, but I am getting all sorts of compilation errors - it is like playing whack-a-mole. The latest one is:
Syntax checking python script halcompile
Copying python script halcompile
Preprocessing thermistor.comp
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "../bin/halcompile", line 1419, in <module>
File "../bin/halcompile", line 1414, in main
OSError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'objects/hal/user_comps/thermistor.c'
make: *** [hal/user_comps/Submakefile:82: objects/hal/user_comps/thermistor.c] Error 1
[root@womble src]#
Nothing seems to provide thermistor.c and I have Googled for it without success. There is, however, hal/user_comps/thermistor.comp. What?

Before I abandon the whole idea, I thought I would ask if anyone has successfully installed it on Fedora and, if so, what the steps are.
