I have an Epson Perfection V550 scanner, and it used to work in Fedora with Epson's IScan software. For some reason, it quit working after the upgrade to Fedora 27. I think I've mostly got it working now.

Go to http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/se...search/?OSC=LX and search for V550.

Download their iscan-perfection-v550-bundle-1.0.1.x64.rpm.tar.gz. (I've found older and newer linux scanner software on their site, but this is the only package that I've been able to get to work with this particular scanner.)

Un-tar it, run the install script

And edit /etc/sane.d/dll.conf so that the epson, epson2, and epsonds lines are commented out with #'s :

Code:
...
#epson
#epson2
#epsonds
...
Now at least xsane works. I haven't been able to get Epson's iscan program to work, however.
