    Want to stop Lynx browser from refreshing terminal on exit

    I use lynx browser as a markdown (md) file viewer, using a bash function
    in my .bashrc

    Code:
    mdview ()
    {
        pandoc -f markdown -t html $1 | lynx -stdin
    }
    then I can run "mdview README.md" to read a md file. That works fine but what I don't like is when I exit lynx it refreshes the terminal and the
    text goes away. I want the view I left with to say on the terminal. Is there a known way to stop lynx from
    refreshing the terminal?

    You can use screen with output logging (screen -L).
    You could also disable the alternate screen functionality (not related to the screen program), but it is a bit more involving (a simple hack is to use: TERM=vt220 lynx): https://unix.stackexchange.com/quest...-in-a-terminal
