fedora 27 does not recognize my monitor

    Hello,
On a quad core AMD64, with a video card ati radeon hd 4350,
fedora 27 does not recognize my monitor, which is a "Listo", the resolution is 2K: 1980x1024.
I have installed the server xorg for ati radeon.
    here my output :
    Code:
    [root@localhost phipo]# lspci |grep -i VGA
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RV710 [Radeon HD 4350/4550]
    [root@localhost phipo]#
How to activate the amd / gpu modules in the grub?
    or another setting ?

    Regards
    Philippe

Post output of command as user:
    Code:
    xrandr -q
Is current resolution native for the monitor?

What cable is the monitor connected with? DVI, HDMI, VGA, Display port?

is it an OEM card from Dell or HP then? Usually the retail versions of the 4350 had at least one DVI output. I have a Dell AMD Radeon HD 3450 card that only has one customised connection with an adaptor for two VGA outputs instead of the usual retail specification which is why I ask. I only use that occasionally with a 1280x1024 screen so never tried pushing it to a higher resolution.

anyway, searching found the below, try it at your own risk. it may not actually work as intended and make things worse than they are now:

    Code:
    xrandr --newmode "1920x1080" 173.00 1920 2048 2248 2576 1080 1083 1088 1120 -hsync +vsyncxrandr --addmode Virtual1 1920x1080
    xrandr --output Virtual1 --mode 1920x1080
if these values don't work, adjust them accordingly to suit your monitor's actual supported resolutions

Re: fedora 27 does not recognize my monitor

I did as you recommended, but I do not know whether to apply commands in user or root mode?

Before I had installed the same distribution and automatically it passed in 1980x1080 is 2k.

    [phipo@localhost ~]$ xrandr --newmode "1920x1080" 173.00 1920 2048 2248 2576 1080 1083 1088 1120 -hsync +vsyncxrandr --addmode Virtual1 1920x1080
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
    xrandr: cannot find output "Virtual1"
    [phipo@localhost ~]$ xrandr --output Virtual1 --mode 1920x1080
xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
warning: output Virtual1 not found; ignoring
    [phipo@localhost ~]$
    Kinds Regards
    Philippe

try with sudo in front of the commands then, you are most likely right about the commands needing root or sudo rights.

    Code:
    [root@localhost phipo]# xrandr --newmode "1920x1080" 173.00 1920 2048 2248 2576 1080 1083 1088 1120 -hsync +vsyncxrandr --addmode Virtual1 1920x1080
