    Software for digital microscopes?

Is there software that can control a variety of digital microscopes of the sort that connect to a computer via a USB cable?

I'm interested in the cheaper sort of digital microscope ( $40-$60 price range). Some of them advertise being compatible with "Linux adroid phone", but I want to use one with a desktop computer. It would be nice to find software that wasn't tied to one particular brand of microscope.
