Does Fedora 27 come with all the multmedia codecs, etc?

This weekend I tried Fedora out for the first time in over a decade via a LiveDVD.

I was pleasantly surprised to see YouTube working with sound.

Does this mean that if I install Fedora I no longer have to set up multimedia stuff myself?

That video playback, sound, youtube, music CDs, DVD play back etc etc come working out of the box?

    Thanks

not quite, you'd still need to install at least one library, especially where commercial DVD decryption is concerned (libdvdcss). if you want something similar to the Mint ethos of everything just working then try a fedora remix

music CD playback shouldn't be an issue and neither should MP3 these days as ffmpeg is now shipped with Fedora.

An easy way is to install Fedy and then you can add all you want.

I think the MP3 patent expired recently, why Fedora instantly started providing support for this codec out of the box, as it was no longer non-free.
