    Re: Fedora 27 Kernel 4.15 won't boot

    Same issue with 2400G on ASRock Mini-ITX Motherboard - AB350 GAMING-ITX/AC. Motherboard UEFI also shows temperature as 127C so that's a hardware/UEFI issue. Anyone with non Asrock board here? 4.15 freezes 4.14 boots but freezes periodically, sometimes minutes sometimes hours.

    4.16 is supposed to have proper support for the 2200G/2400G hardware. that should be available in Fedora 28 beta

    Re: Fedora 27 Kernel 4.15 won't boot

    I think I found a solution that works - at least for me - till we get 4.16 on F27 , my solution was to re-install the latest driver from nvidia.
    Credits goes to
    https://www.if-not-true-then-false.c...-nvidia-guide/
    I already had the driver installed since NOV but since kernel 4.15 it stopped working, so I just used the same tutorial - starting from step "2.7 Reboot to runlevel 3" - after downloading the new driver and once it is installed the new kernel boots normally.
    Note that this worked for me, so ensure to know what you are doing.

    Re: Fedora 27 Kernel 4.15 won't boot

    Hi
    I had the same problem with my old asus x71sl, geforce 9300M, core 2duo P7350. I formatted and now I boot with the kernel 4.13.9.300. All 4.15.xx.xx kernel freeze at the boot, I have reported to bugzilla but didn't have answer. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1551005
    sorry for my bad english, thanks for your understanding....

    I have AMD Ryzen 4-core, Asus Prime X370, nvidia GTX1050Ti and don't see any problem with kernel 4.15.17 with proprietary driver. from rpmfusion.

    Maybe check boot grub command line options or any bios settings that may conflict?

    Re: Fedora 27 Kernel 4.15 won't boot

    After upgrading to the 4.15 kernel my system locked up most of the time.....
    I was able to bypass the acpi errors (they still are logged) including the clocksource error that is controlled by acpi by adding the following to the boot grub command line:
    nohz=off clocksource=pit pci=nocrs acpi-ht pnpacpi=off elevator=deadline

    Then I had it hang up at times on the network manager script. I had to edit the:
    /etc/systemd/system/dbus-org.freedesktop.nm-dispatcher.service
    file by adding RemainAfterExit=yes below:
    [Service]
    Type=dbus
    BusName=org.freedesktop.nm_dispatcher
    ExecStart=/usr/libexec/nm-dispatcher
    KillMode=process
    RemainAfterExit=yes

    Then a work around to keep a stop job hanging on shutdown...
    Edited:
    /etc/systemd/system.conf
    Changing (and un commenting):
    #DefaultTimeoutStopSec=90s
    To:
    DefaultTimeoutStopSec=15s

    It's been working much better!
