    Around then. I'm in my early 60's and so vaguely remember the early 60's.

    I'm not taking sides on this or saying there is no problem, I just posted the comparisons to clarify what settings are actually in use at present. I also have sight issues but slightly different ones. I can't see really light blue text very well as previously used by yahoo! sport for hyperlinks like this

    lol, for by that reason I reckon it should be changed, there's no point in having a support forum if there are no oldies around to offer support!

    there is always the vB4 Default Style option which can be accessed from the User Control Panel or at the style chooser at the bottom of the web page.

    You mentioned this before, but I am either sleepier than normal, or that option is not available.
    At the bottom of most(?) pages there is a combo box - When open it shows a heading of "Quick Style Chooser", and has the options of "-- White" and "-- Fedora Blue". Is this what you are referring to ? If so, its only effect seems to be to change the border colour.

    Similarly, if I go to the configuration pages, via the cog symbol at the top, and then choose "General Settings", there is a setting for "Forum Skin" with the same two options, plus "Use Forum Default" (which is Fedora Blue).

    also take into account the viewing angle on non-IPS panels can affect the contrast of text hugely

    I just left the age 77 starting gate, to me the second or third option (3e3ee3 is best, as it is easy to distinguish between bold and non-bold.

    You could change the font to the darkest black font but it still wouldn't improve the readability the drivel posted to the forum.

    Yes Leigh..

    @ocratato - there should be the following options available to you. In the user control panel it's under general settings but yes also on the quick style chooser at the bottom of the page.

    Re: Darker font

    Sorry, but I am not seeing anything like the options you have for "Forum Skins".
    The web page I am accessing has exactly the same address as on your screen grab, but the page source for that section looks like this:
    HTML Code:
    			<div class="blockrow">
    					<label for="sel_newstyleset">Forum Skin:</label>
    					<select class="primary" name="newstyleset" id="sel_newstyleset" tabindex="1">

    						<option value="0" />Use Forum Default</option>

    						<!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: option -->

    	<option value="12" class="" > White</option>

    <!-- END TEMPLATE: option --><!-- BEGIN TEMPLATE: option -->

    	<option value="14" class="" selected="selected"> Fedora Blue</option>

    <!-- END TEMPLATE: option -->

    					</select>
    					<p class="description">There is more than one skin in which you can view the forums. If you would like to switch to a different skin, select it from this list.<br />
    						<br />
    						Please note that some forums here may override your skin choice temporarily.</p>
    				</div>
    It looks like something is being cached somewhere and I am getting an old version.

    Re: Darker font

    I only see those two options if I'm not logged in so maybe it's something user level related. I thought all members could see the same style option set though, I don't see there's any reason why this shouldn't be allowed.

    try following this link and see if the style changes to vB4 default:

    The style selector combo now appears empty as though neither of the two options are selected. Nothing else changed.

    Re: Darker font

    okay thanks for the feedback, that vB4 Default style must be only available to forum staff with elevated privileges then. I asked you to try the link to see if that was the case.

    So, can we get a way to increase text contrast? I understand that cool styling trumps everything else these days, but personally I value my eyes higher
