    Does anybody have shared directories working in VBox with Fedora guest and OSX host?

    All,

    I have Fedora 27 setup in VBox on an OSX host. I cannot seem to get shared directories working. I have done this successfully many times with other Linux dists, just not with Fedora.

    Has anyone else been able to get this to work? Is there anything special about Fedora?

    To date, I've tried following the instruction here.

    The tutorial has me doing the following:

    Code:
    $ dnf update kernel*
    $ rpm -Uvh https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epe...t-7.noarch.rpm
    $ dnf install gcc kernel-devel kernel-headers dkms make bzip2 perl
    $ export KERN_DIR=/usr/src/kernels/`uname -r`
    $ cd /media/VirtualBoxGuestAdditions
    $ ./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run
    It all seems to run successfully.

    I then try to mount:
    $ mount -t vboxsf <share name> /mnt
    No errors no nothing and nothing mounted.

    Thanks in advance

    You need to make yourself a member of the vboxsf group and restart the VM.

    If it still doesn't work, don't sweat it. Simply set up a FTP server on the host.
