    Everything is tiny

I installed Fedora 27 with Mate desktop environment on a Lenovo T470s with a display resolution of 2560 x 1440.

Everything is so tiny, fonts, icons, etc that I almost need a magnifying glass to use this environment. Is there a way to fix this?

    1. Right-click on the desktop and choose Change Desktop Background OR: choose System -> Preferences -> Appearance.
    2. Choose the Fonts tab.
    3. Click the Details button.
    4. On the top of the dialog there is a Resolution entry field where you can enter or increase the DPI setting. Setting this to the true DPI of the display scales up everything too much, but with a little tinkering it is possible to find a good value.

Generally I find 192 to be a good dpi setting. I boot into textmode and run startx (and don't use Gnome) so in my .Xdefaults I use Xft.dpi: 192

The Arch wiki has a good article about HiDPI screens

I have few things about working with yoga2, for different desktops at http://srobb.net/yoga2.html but the ArchWiki probably covers it all.

If you can't get things right by changing the dpi, also have a look at the --scale option of xrandr.
