    LXQT doesn't play nice with Gimp

    I open an image in Gimp to make a wallpaper for new install of Fedora LxQT spin. I resize image to fit laptop screen. Image is right height but not wide enough so I create a background (2nd image) that is the same size as screen resolution and try to copy/paste my resized image onto that. I use GIMP 'copy' or 'copy visible' menu options and the Gimp crashes every time.

    Haven't found much regarding the problem but saw a discussion re this problem and LXQT's qlipper clipboard manager and gimp conflicting over meta information. (https://github.com/lxde/lxqt/issues/858)

    I haven't found much else to not like with LXQT but this issue could be a deal breaker as I love my GIMP and it is one of the most stable free software applications there is.

    Any thoughts?

    Re: LXQT doesn't play nice with Gimp

    Installed qlipper update yesterday but cut/copy actions still crash gimp.

    Found some records in /var/log/messages, including these:
    Feb 3 15:15:53 localhost audit[24766]: ANOM_ABEND auid=1001 uid=1001 gid=1001 ses=5 subj=unconfined_u:unconfined_r:unconfined_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 pid=24766 comm="gimp-2.8" exe="/usr/bin/gimp-2.8" sig=5 res=1

    and a
    systemd-coredump[25048]: Process 25031 (gimp-2.8)
    which is quite long so I don't know if I should paste it all in this thread but can if anyone wants it.

    also, from var log messages, last message:
    Feb 4 20:01:41 localhost abrt-notification[1606]: Process 1506 (gimp-2.8) crashed in gdk_x_error()

    If you haven't done so already, you could try posting a bug report at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/index.cgi, including the coredump.

    Thank you dswaner, as per your suggestion I did file a bug report there. We'll see what happens.

    Re: LXQT doesn't play nice with Gimp

    After updates today, can report that GIMP and LxQT seem to be playing together fine. Tried Copy and Paste operation as well as Cut and Gimp performed without a hiccup. All good.
