    2nd Hard Drive with Fedora

I have a T420 Thinkpad with Windows 10 on it. I'm replacing my cd drive with another hard drive. I would like to install Fedora on it, but I don't want it to affect the Windows drive. I would prefer to hit F12 at boot and choose Fedora rather than have grub take over boot options. Is this possible?
    Thanks.

So, your issue is WHICH interface gives you the boot options?
    Change - the only constant.

It actually worked out like I hoped. It still defaults to Win10 and I can hit F12 to choose Fedora during boot. Fedora didn't change the boot order during installation

From the bios you can select which of the two drives to use as the boot drive. If you used the bios to set the boot drive to the /dev/sdb, then your system will boot the Fedora system and subsequently you respond to grub to select which operating system to boot.

grub allows you to even set the highlighted drive to be the second one, and to not default to the /dev/sda .

I'm quickly becoming a fan of Fedora. Mostly I have used Ubuntu and Debian in the past.

    One more item

If you boot the /dev/sdb to make sure your /dev/sdb is actually the boot drive, run the following from the /dev/sdb drive

    sudo grub2-install /dev/sdb

it will install the boot code into the /dev/sdb mbr and setup grub on the /dev/sdb The /boot/grub2/grub.cfg will be updated and it will contain entries for both operating systems.
