    Virtualbox Win10 no openGL support

    hi,
I'm triyng to use win10 on Virutalbox 5.2.4
but I have no OpenGL support

I need 3d support for 3d modelling and printing (meshmixer and ultimaker cura)

when I start the 3d software I receive this error:
"could not probe OpenGL. This program requires OpenGl 2.0 or higher.
please check your video card drivers"

I installed the guest additions but it didn't solve it.

I'm wondering if the problem is the GPU not well recognized.

    I have and asrock z370 with a i3 8100 coffee lake.
To make fedora works, I had to add i915.apha_support=1 in the grub,
maybe this could be the problem....

    thanks
    Paolo

3D acceleration in virtualbox is garbage. Simple as that. Use something else.

note that 3D acceleration features via Guest Additions for Windows guests are experimental anyhow and not guaranteed to work. what program do you need OpenGL acceleration for? will the program run with WINE instead of having to resort to VirtualBox?
