F27: using Nemo, missing desktop icons

Hi, I recently installed F27 on a machine that was running F23 and I've been using Nemo as my file manager as I hate Nautilus with the passionate fire of 1,000 burning suns, and I find that my desktop icons are missing.

I was never able to really remove Nautilus completely from Gnome back on F23 - several apps call the Nautilus file manager to select files (which I detest but couldn't get around) - but I would start Nemo at login and my desktop icons would be there. Now, in F27 they are not and I'm not sure how to get them back.

Try running the desktop process, it's called nemo-desktop!
You could create a autostart file for it to start it.

    Code:
    nemo-desktop

Bingo! Thanks. I didn't need to do that in Fedora 23 - just starting Nemo started the desktop, so I was just autostarting Nemo. I'll change that to nemo-desktop.

    Thanks again!
