Question Fedora 27 - No System Tray

After a fresh install of Fedora 27 I no longer seem to have access to the system tray. Tried Super+M and that did not work either.

I appear to have the wrong terminology. What is missing is the "Tray Icon Draw"

Yeah, they've removed it in Gnome 3.26, use something else if you want the tray

Gnome devs removed it because it doesn't fit their vision of the linux desktop (which apparently is a system that looks nice but is dog slow and cannot be used to get any work done).
They expect you to read the news and install the topicons extension and apparently app devs should use some non-existent replacement apis, just like the mozilla situation.

The system tray is there in a different layout. From the top right corner, click on the screwdriver/wrench icon.
It will open up the new system tray layout.
Major setting info is in the left pane, and details are in the right pane.
For example, look at the background entry. There you see the active and locked screen images.

I do find there are more/better settings facilities provided.

Did you tried the extension and it actually worked? Last time I've checked, no extension worked. Extension active, no icons.

Even if it did work, I am not sure how I feel about Gnome banning this essential feature that is widely spread. They either don't care about any non-gnome software or their aim is too high.
