    Fedora 26 update no longer has write access to F25 shares

    I recently upgraded from F25 to F26 on my main workstation. There are three media shares I mount from my MythTV / Media server which is still running Fedora 25. After the update, all the samba shares mount as root as read only. Even if I try to change it from a root shell with chown and chmod (no go). I found that I can umount them, and remount them from the command line using the vers=1.0 option, and I retake ownership with write privileges. This is kinda a kludge workaround in my opinion. What is the proper way to fix this? I am pretty sure this is a mix match in samba versions. Do I need to change the server's smb.conf file or the client's? For that matter, what changes need to be made?

    An example line from fstab:
    //192.168.x.x/varchive                        /mnt/varchive   cifs    username=myusername,password=mypassword 0 0
    This would previously mount the varchive share as owned and writable by me. Now it is owned by root and not writable. If I change it to this, It fixes it, but I don't think this is how I should be proceeding with this:
    //192.168.x.x/varchive                        /mnt/varchive   cifs    username=myusername,password=mypassword,vers=1.0 0 0
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
