Re: Where to get Fedora 27 and/or Spins

The project does not prefer downloading from this link typically. It is advised to use the official links instead (below).

    getfedora.org

    or

    spins.fedoraproject.org

This will enable everyone to use a mirror that is closer to them and potentially quicker than dl.fpo. This will also relieve the strain on fpo servers.

Re: Where to get Fedora 27 and/or Spins

I have the practice of using wget to download ISO's and CHECKSUM files. I would have liked Fedora to have emulated other distributions (eg. SUSE) that provide a list of mirrors from which to fetch the current ISO's instead of just the one location that I posted.

Many times I check the servers at one or two universities close to home. They tend to mirror many distributions.

I setup a small crontab job that starts a download at midnight when wget goes into action. What I like about my method is that I don't have to be around when the download starts. Typically, I setup midnight plus 1 minute, I find that a good time because much of Europe is asleep, as well as much of North America. Internet and server traffic tends to be light at that time.
