    Fedora Set-Up Guides

Fedora is maintained by the FedoraProject. Start here to grab your copy. You may want to spend some time reading the Official Documentation such as the F27 Installation Guide, Release Notes and Common Bugs.

    F27 Common Bugs

Fedora is Free & Open Source by design. Many users want the codecs they're used to, so they want the addition of packages offered in RPMFusion
RPMFusion - includes many of the codecs and packages that you'll find useful for getting the most from Fedora. Most members set up both the "free" and "non-free" versions.

We think you'll also find Gnome Tweak Tool a great addition to Gnome.

Gnome Tweak Tool for F27 - (Advanced Settings)

While not a Guide, if you're using Gnome3, we recommend installing gnome-tweak-tool to get the most out of Gnome. Be sure to check out all the Extensions available to you.

Sadly, gnome-tweak-tool is not installed by default, but may be easily installed using the normal package installation process (gui: Software) or it can be installed directly from a terminal using the following command. [ sudo dnf install gnome-tweak-tool ]

Scripts For F27 - Waiting for scripts that are set up for F27. We'll post them when available.

    Help for previous Fedora versions:

    Scripts Updated For F25 & F26:

Fedy - Works with both F25 and F26. A modular and scriptable utility to install codecs and proprietary software, add & manage repos and much more, also saves downloaded files. Click on the fedy link to go to it's site and follow the simple instructions. That should install Fedy and the necessary repos.

PostInstallerF - F25 script for adding loads of packages, drivers and codecs.

Easy Life - (F25 only right now) Duli's script to add codecs, drivers, and more to Fedora. Unfortunatelly, under Wayland display server the root user cannot run the program yad (which is used by easyLife to make the menu). So until this is fixed (if it will ever be), easyLife will only work by logging in with "GNOME on Xorg" session.

Other scripts will be added as soon as they can be verified on F25 or F26.

For those who want Nvidia support, this article Installing Nvidia Drivers may help. Be sure to read carefully and follow all steps.
