youtube-dl version that works on dailymotion?

Is there a version of youtube-dl available for Fedora that will download from the dailymotion website?

On my FC24 machine, I find that the installed youtube-dl version 2017.06.25 doesn't work on the dailymotion site and this version isn't updated by a dnf update. The youtube-dl site attributes failure on dailymotion to using an outdated version of youtube-dl - namely version 2017.06.25, which was used in the bug report https://github.com/rg3/youtube-dl/issues/13857

With youtube-dl, a distro version is often behind the latest. I just go to their site and download their latest.

Or try `youtube-dl` packaged for a newer Fedora version, for example: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/...buildID=978038

By looking at release notes youtube-dl 2017.09.24 fixed something in regards with dailymotion.

    You also try
    Code:
    sudo youtube-dl --update
which will tell youtube-dl to update itself to the latest version (which is nice for those of us still using Fedora 24!).

This is nice for separate installs, but it doesn't make much sense to use with the package, if package maintainer left it enabled. Updates like that are usually patched out when packaging for a distribution. I am guessing that will overwrite files installed from packages and rpm will treat new updated files as modified and it will rewrite them on package re-installation, should that ever happen. Much cleaner solution in that case is to remove the package and install the script manually somewhere, `/usr/local` for example.
