What is the default cdrom mounted directory in the latest distro?

I have installed rhel 7.4 on vmware workstation 12. I am trying to access the contents of the cdrom but when I issue the command "ll /run/media" it is empty. Does anyone know if rhel 7.4 changed the default cdrom mount directory from "/run/media" to something else?

The path to access files and run programs you are looking for is:

    /run/media/yourusername/volume_label

I've moved your post because it isn't specific to Using Fedora. You are welcome to seek advice about RHEL here but in future please post any non-Fedora questions in the Linux Chat section.

My install doesn't have the path /run/media. Do you think it has something to do with installing rhel 7.4 in VMWare Workstation? I don't have a free pc to install it on. Thanks

it should work the same if the media is actually mounted properly, try

    mount /dev/sr0

    or

    mount /dev/cdrom

edit: I got it to work. I placed the entry below into /etc/fstab and rebooted the system and it's now seeing my drive. Thanks for all your help!

    /dev/sr0 /for_cd iso9660 ro, user, noauto 0 0
