Hello everybody.

I have put my hands in two old netbooks (2009) and managed to resurrect them with SSD drives. Nevertheless, they are still relatively underpowered (2GB RAM, Atom processors), so I have to keep it real regarding their software selection and running services: for instance I avoid GNOME 3. One netbook has Fedora 26 i386 and the other one Debian 8 i386.

I would like to use Evolution Mail to synchronize my Gmail account from time to time, but I don't want the service running all the time (consuming resources); I don't care if I don't get notifications, I just want to be able to retrieve my mail when I open the program (on demand). How can I accomplish that?

Thanks a lot,
Joe.
