OT: eye fatigue in video display terminal

    Hi All,

How is this for Off Topic!

I thought this would be of interest to those of us who stare at these stinkers all day long.

Bilberry extract supplementation for preventing eye fatigue in video display terminal workers:
    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25923485

    It helps dry eye too:

The effect of a natural, standardized bilberry extract
(Mirtoselect®) in dry eye: a randomized, double blinded,
    placebo-controlled trial:
    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28617532

That solution goes well with GNOME->System Tray->Displays->Night-Light

Very sweet. I am writing that one down in my keepers file. Thank you!

I am going to ask Xfce if they have anything like that.

And, there are computer glasses you can pick up at Amazon that help too. Both my wife and I, plus two of my customers use them and notice the difference.

Nightlight and glasses to cut down on the damage. Bilberry to repair the damage.

Did you notice the "randomized, double blinded, placebo-controlled trial"? Means they follow the "scientific method". Will wonders ever cease!

I use the human control option, not using the PC for a couple of hours before going to sleep. If I happen to be reading an ebook it will be on the smartphone or now tablet which has twilight and also night mode in Play Books.Night mode inverts the page colour, twilight does the blue filtering and also reduces screen brightness automatically. so the text ends up with an orange hue.
